in postulate 7 it says there is at least one plane for every 3 points. How can there be more?

ReplyDeleteHi Chris... picture a camera or surveryor's tripod. They use a tripod because the three legs (or the endPOINTS of the three legs, can always rest cleanly on any surface, because thos three points can always find a SINGLE plane.
ReplyDeleteThree collinear points are like a points along a straw. Hold the straw in any direction (pick any three COLLLINEAR points on it) and then you can tape a piece of construction paper to it. You can SPIN the construction paper about the straw a full 360 degrees. Each different angle of the paper represents one of the INFINITE number of planes that can be aligned through the straw.
